Germany – Fire station construction work – Errichtung eines Feuerwehrhauses in innovativer Holzbauweise

The municipality of Wentorf bei Hamburg plans the new construction of a fire station in innovative timber construction, which is to be erected on the property at Fritz-Sprecht-Weg 1, 21465 Wentorf bei Hamburg. The new construction comprises in particular the following characteristics: • Property area of approx. 10,600 m² • Gross floor area of approx. 3,200 m² • Two full storeys • A vehicle hall with parking spaces for 9 fire engines and a washing hall for one fire engine • Accommodation and training areas for the volunteer fire brigade and the youth fire brigade • Rooms for operational, training and operational purposes • Material storage over two storeys • Workshop area for fire brigade equipment • Construction of a training tower with nine storeys • Construction of a connection to public road traffic. The new construction is to be built taking into account sustainability and innovation goals: A – Fulfillment of selected requirements according to the Sustainable Building Assessment System (BNB) B – Innovation goals in timber construction, in the form of: • Dissemination of timber construction through visible constructions as an example in the context of fire protection requirements • Development of a CO2-neutral energy concept for temporarily used buildings in timber construction, with particular consideration of thermal comfort (storage capacity and summer heat protection) and moisture behaviour • Further use and recycling of timber components in the sense of a circular economy.
