Renovation and extension of the Westpfalz-Klinikum in Kirchheimbolanden

The Westpfalz-Klinikum is located on the western outskirts of Kirchheimbolanden and consists of several building sections from different periods. The oldest part of the facility is the 5th ward building and the treatment building (outpatient clinics + operating theatre) to the north, dating from the mid-1950s. In the 1990s, extensions were added to the operating theatre department, the entrance area with cafeteria/staff dining, and the intensive care unit. From 2000 onwards, extensions were added to the delivery room, followed by the outpatient operating theatre centre and the new chief physician's area in 2011. As the last building block, a 4-storey MVZ was created directly adjacent to the emergency department. To the south, east and north, there are residential areas, while to the west, there is no immediate development, but green meadows and fields that lead upwards to forested areas. As part of the planned measure, the hospital will receive a new building on the eastern side of the clinic, as well as an extension in a north-eastern building section.
