The Department 37 of the State Capital Potsdam, specifically the Fire Department, requires a new building with a two-storey connector/ walkway, to the existing guard station, on the site between Holzmarktstraße and Türkstraße in 14467 Potsdam. As part of a preliminary feasibility study, the required demand was determined, and maximum building sizes and boundary conditions were identified and pre-agreed with the involved authorities and released in writing by them. However, during the planning process, 3 different views of the facade design must be submitted to the monument protection authority for approval. A building with up to 4 storeys and a maximum height of 15 m including all technical superstructures is permitted. The first two storeys are to be planned as parking levels. A special feature on the ground floor is the required passage height of 4.0 m. For the implementation, the boathouse/steel structure must be dismantled in advance. Adjacent technical rooms must be relocated or moved out regarding their use and must be reintegrated into the ground floor during the construction process. Close coordination between all planners, the fire department and the local energy supplier is necessary for this.
