The City of Bochum (hereinafter "Contracting Authority") faces the challenge of meeting the steadily increasing space requirements due to rising school enrollments in the Bochum city area. In this context, in addition to the need for renovation and maintenance measures for existing school buildings, there is a significant need for the creation of new sports and learning spaces. The Contracting Authority is obligated by the School Act to carry out school development planning. To fulfill this legally mandated obligation, the Contracting Authority plans to address the growing space requirements within the framework of a comprehensive school construction and modernization program. This includes necessary new construction, renovation, and modernization measures for 27 school facilities. The program covers all types of schools and refers to primary, special needs, and secondary schools. Embedded in this school construction program, the expansion and renovation of the primary school at Vöde, Castroper Str. 235, 44791 Bochum is now to be carried out. The structural expansion and renovation of the primary school at Vöde, including the preliminary demolition of the existing building, is to be carried out by a general contractor. The primary school at Vöde is a two-track school in the Grumme district. The current number of students of approximately 235 (school year 2026/27) is expected to increase to a projected 240 by the school year 2030/31. The property includes the school building (approximately 468 m²), a transformer station (approximately 65 m²), a gymnasium (approximately 565 m²), the former caretaker's apartment, which is now used as an OGS (approximately 132 m²), and an additional OGS building attached to the hall (approximately 195 m²). The schoolyard area is approximately 2,100 m². The planned measure is to be implemented in three steps: Step 1: Renovation of the computer room into a classroom - already completed; A computer room that was no longer needed was converted into a classroom. Step 2: Container installation as an additional classroom - already completed; A container in front of the main building on Castroper Straße provides space for an additional room. Step 3: Demolition of the existing extension to the gymnasium (OGS), new construction and renovation on the schoolyard (school year 2030/31); The construction of a three-story new building is planned along the western property boundary. Since the usable schoolyard area will be significantly restricted during the construction phase, the existing extension to the gymnasium (OGS facilities) will be demolished before the new construction is carried out. The corresponding rooms will be accommodated in the second floor of the new building. After the completion of the new construction work, the necessary renovation measures in the existing building will be carried out.
