The Gasteig is Munich's large, centrally located cultural and educational centre. With its approximately 1.8 million visitors and more than 1,800 events per year, it is the largest cultural centre in Germany. The building, with its consistent brick surfaces both inside and out, was constructed from 1976 according to the plans of the architectural firm Raue Rollenhagen Lindemann Grossmann and opened in 1984/85. After more than 30 years of intensive use, the building's comprehensive renovation is due. The focus will be on adapting the existing functional links in view of future requirements, greater flexibility in use, designing state-of-the-art building, communications, media and security technology and topics such as sustainability and inclusion. These, like the event halls, are to be further expanded in the future. The existing, complex relationships and offers are to be linked more closely in terms of content and possible synergies are to be used more effectively. This results in new functional requirements for the building, which also make an increase in floor space by approximately 10,000 m² necessary.

The services invited for tender relate to monitoring, coordination, testing, control and value engineering activities during the planning and execution phase in connection with the planning and construction services to be provided by the general contractor – see also the scope of services „TU Controlling HLSK“ (T2-01-03). The subject of the invitation to tender are therefore specialist planning services for technical equipment (heating, ventilation, sanitation - HLSK) as part of quality assurance with regard to the planning and construction services to be provided by the general contractor.
