The bed central, which has been operated in Building 7 since 1959, has been continuously maintained with its own resources. Partial, regularly occurring water damage from the traversable flat roof has impaired building operations and had to be temporarily remedied. With the core renovation of Building 8 and the associated construction of a covered patient access road, the traversable STB ceiling of the bed central has been stripped and now fundamentally renovated over the entire area. Since bed preparation continues to be carried out centrally in the main building, there is now the opportunity to sustainably renovate the properly positioned bed central. In addition to the elimination of structural defects, the optimization of internal operational processes is the focus. The redesign of the layout is intended to make logistics processes more efficient. In particular, intersection-free routes, especially the strict separation of clean and unclean work areas, are to be consistently implemented to permanently guarantee the highest hygiene standards. The project schedule must be aligned in such a way that a complete and verifiable submission of the HU construction is guaranteed in the second quarter of 2027.
