Description

The Samtgemeinde Grafschaft Hoya intends to award planning services for the construction of two new bridges. Until 2022, a bridge crossed the Wunstorf-Bremen railway line in both Gandesbergen and Eystrup-Doenhausen. The bridge in Eystrup-Doenhausen was demolished in 2022 due to severe damage. The council of the municipality of Eystrup has requested the reconstruction of the bridge in Eystrup-Doenhausen and has agreed to subsidise 50% of the uncovered investment costs. On 14.12.2022, the Samtgemeinderat decided to replace the bridge on the basis of this application. This requires the municipality of Eystrup to contribute 60% to the costs incurred and to assume the construction responsibility for the bridge and the municipal road 39 after completion. As a replacement new building, it is planned to build a bridge with the same layout. This is a bridge with a carriageway width of 5.00 m with narrow sidewalks of approximately 0.9 m width. The bridge spans the double-track electrified line 1740 Wunstorf-Bremen. The existing bridge had a total length of 32.50 m. Supports were arranged on both sides of the railway line. The special feature of this bridge is the aforementioned crossing of the railway, which, in addition to the normal planning and construction services of a road bridge, requires intensive coordination and involvement of Deutsche Bahn. Due to the damage pattern, it was recommended in 2021 to demolish the bridge in Gandesbergen or to carry out a major renovation, which would extend the service life until a replacement new building by approx. 6-8 years. The Samtgemeinderat decided on 28.10.2021 to renovate the bridge and to replace it in the medium term. The renovation was carried out in 2022. It is also planned here to build a replacement new building with the same layout. This bridge also has a carriageway width of 5.00 m with narrow sidewalks of approximately 0.85 m width. This bridge also has two supports on both sides of the railway and has a total span of approximately 35.0 m and also spans line 1740. New construction measures on a railway line can only be implemented under a full closure of rail traffic. Corresponding closure periods must be applied for in good time with the DB. Upon request, the DB informed that extensive renovation measures are planned for the Hannover-Bremen route, for which a full closure of approximately 5 months is required. This project is currently scheduled for the years 2029 or 2030 in the general renovation plan. Accordingly, it was recommended to register municipal planning as soon as possible so that it can be taken into account in the planning. A corresponding informal application was submitted to the DB to comply with the deadline. At present, it is not expected that further closure periods will be approved before this extensive renovation of the railway line. The net construction costs for the bridge Eystrup-Doenhausen are estimated at 1.89 million EUR. Construction costs (incl. demolition) of 2.92 million EUR (net) are expected for the bridge in Gandesbergen.
