The Contracting Authority hereby invites you to submit a registration for the tender concerning the rental of storage and/or (un)loading containers for lithium batteries. Lithium-based energy carriers are increasingly being used within the Defence sector due to their high energy density and long lifespan. The introduction and growing use of these energy carriers across all military branches leads to an increase in safety risks for operational units, equipment, and supporting processes. These storage and/or (un)loading containers are used for the safe storage, charging, and discharging of lithium batteries. Since this needs to be done on short notice, the containers are rented, and the contract will primarily be awarded based on the shortest possible delivery time. With this tender, the Contracting Authority aims to provide safe and suitable storage and/or (un)loading facilities for lithium batteries, to manage these risks.
