Germany – Construction work for airfields, runways and manoeuvring surfaces – Erneuerung Taxiway Foxtrot (TWY F) - Verkehrsanlagen und Ingenieurbauwerke

The Flughafen Nürnberg GmbH plans to renew and widen the Taxiway Foxtrot (TWY F) for future regular use by aircraft according to EASA Code E. The comprehensive renewal includes widening the taxiway in straight sections from 22.5 m to 23 m. The new asphalt surface to be created comprises approx. 44,500 m². The measure includes the comprehensive renewal of the surfaces, drainage systems and cable ducts, the construction of a new demand taxiway T1 and the fillet widenings in the area of the taxiways TWY J and TWY F / C. The construction work is to be carried out in specified construction phases with interruptions. Construction Phase I = Construction Year 2027 and Construction Phase II = Construction Year 2028. Construction Phase I comprises the western part of the TWY F - Station 0+550 to 1+450. Construction Phase II comprises the eastern part of the TWY F - Station 0+000 to 0+550. Work in the section 1+420 to 1+450 (Zone A according to NfL I 191/99) must be carried out during specified night closures in 2027. The TWY T1 will be used in the form of a demand taxiway during the construction work in 2028 and must be constructed in Construction Phase BP-I in 2027. After the section-by-section dismantling of the existing structure of the operational surface TWY F, qualified soil improvements must be carried out at ground level. Thereafter, the entire superstructure will be rebuilt according to the standard structure. In both Construction Phase BP-I and Construction Phase BP-II, operational interim states must be ensured, with pre-operational commissioning of the relevant taxiway relationships (TWY F - TWY E and TWY J). In the area west of the TWY E, the drainage drainage systems will be supplemented, i.e. in the section between the stations 0+940 and 1+170 a new drainage channel will be created and connected to the existing system. Furthermore, a new drainage system will be constructed north of the TWY F in the area between TWY D and TWY E.
