The police and the Federal Customs and Border Security Office (BAZG) rely on reliable and efficient identity verification to perform their duties. Fingerprint data plays a central role in this, both in routine checks and in forensic investigations. The framework agreement for the existing devices is expiring. PTI Schweiz is procuring a framework contract with an integrator for the provision, integration and operation of two fingerprint capture systems: a mobile system (scanner on the smartphone of the police officers) and a contactless system (app-based capture of fingerprints and facial images via iPhones, connected to MACS/eneXs). The PTI partners (including fedpol, BAZG, SEM, cantonal and municipal police forces and Swiss representations abroad) will be able to obtain systems and services from the successful tenderer through the framework contract.
