The Brandenburg IT Service Provider (ZIT-BB) is the central service provider for the direct state administration of Brandenburg for the provision of IT services. Its extensive portfolio of tasks includes, among others, the planning, provision and operation of the technical infrastructure as well as the coordination and support of both authority-specific and cross-authority and joint IT procedures. Its responsibilities also include IT security management for the IT infrastructure of the state administration and responsibility for the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT). The ZIT-BB currently supports around 18,000 workstations in the Brandenburg state administration from its central location in Potsdam. The number of workstations to be supported will increase in the coming years. With the centralisation of the state administration's IT, supporting the authorities and institutions of the state of Brandenburg in the planning, design and use of information technology, as well as consulting on IT security issues, has become a key area of activity. Furthermore, the ZIT-BB provides services under the Brandenburg E-Government Act, in particular for municipalities, offices and municipal associations of the state. The main location of the ZIT-BB is at Steinstraße 104-106, 14480 Potsdam. Due to its statewide responsibility, the ZIT-BB has, among others, branch offices in Cottbus, Frankfurt (Oder), Wünsdorf, Gransee and Eberswalde. It operates its data centre in Berlin.
