With the construction of the "Zentralklinikum Ostfrisische Meere", the local authorities of the Landkreis Aurich and the city of Emden, through their joint holding company Kliniken Aurich-Emden-Norden, are creating a future-oriented medical supply for the rural area under municipal management. The three current hospital locations for basic and standard care in Aurich, Emden and Norden will be combined into a modern clinic campus with the performance and quality standards of a specialist provider, with significant elements of maximum care, and with a prospective development of links to the universities in the region, at the traffic-technical centre of the three cities.
