Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis plans to carry out the comprehensive renovation of the Ludwig-Erhard-Schule, Kaufmännische Schulen Mosbach, in a central location in the city centre of Mosbach, Katzenhorn. The renovation will cover buildings A and B with approximately 8,015 m² of gross floor area, dating from the 1970s. The gymnasium is not part of the renovation. The buildings of the Ludwig-Erhard-Schule are located near the buildings of the Pestalozzi-Realschule, the Nikolaus-Kistner-Gymnasium, the outdoor pool, and the Jahnhalle. The site is bounded by a large car park on Hammerweg, Jean de la Fontaine Straße, the Elz river, which divides the city, and the outdoor pool grounds. The energy supply to the school site is provided via a transformer station located in the building, a PV system, and a connection to the local district heating network. As part of a feasibility study in 2024, the feasibility of energy-efficient renovation and modernisation of buildings A and B was investigated. This should also take into account the improvement of accessibility. Technical installations have been maintained and partly renewed during the period of use but are to be completely renewed as part of the comprehensive renovation. For the duration of the renovation during ongoing school operations, partial relocation of classes to a container system must be considered and planned.
