Germany – Architectural services for outdoor areas – MPI für Biogeochemie, Jena - Erweiterung Institutsgebäude: Freianlagen
Description
The institute building, completed at the beginning of 2003, is divided into three parts, A, B and C, which are connected by a multi-storey entrance hall and further underground structures (partially lit via a courtyard). The space requirements plan for the extension building essentially comprises standard areas for laboratory and office use as well as special areas for the greenhouse with a technical annex. Due to the changed scientific working methods, the installation of greenhouse compartments and technical annex compartments within a contiguous large greenhouse is necessary. This makes it possible to achieve energetically optimised climate stability in the individual compartments ('house-in-house principle'). Due to the site situation with a slope, only the area of the existing greenhouse remains as the location for the extension building. This must be demolished due to the new scientific requirements and replaced by a new greenhouse/technical annex building in connection with the extension building. As a result, renovation work will also be carried out on and in the existing building, in the technical infrastructure and in the supply and disposal lines in the ground. Provisional measures secure the institute's operations during the construction phase. Currently, no interim accommodation is necessary or planned. The scope of services mainly concerns the following construction measures at the MPI for Biochemistry in Jena: - Demolition of old greenhouse, - Extension building of an institute building with office, special and laboratory areas - New construction of a greenhouse - resulting renovation work on/in the existing building as well as in the technical infrastructure and in the supply and disposal lines in the ground. The estimated construction costs of the measure EBIO 001 amount to 7.5 million € (net) KG 300+400, the total construction costs (KG 200-700, excluding KG 611 and KG 612) to 12.5 million € (net). The extension building for the office and laboratory areas will extend to levels OG 1, EG, U-1 and possibly U-2. Analogous to the existing building, the extension building should be designed as a two-shell structure with a widened central zone for access. Due to the static measures to the existing structure (back-anchored bored pile wall), a half-storey may possibly arise on level U-2. Further technical rooms and a further delivery zone (due to the slope) could be accommodated here. The connection to the existing structure is made via a connecting bridge on level OG 1. The mandatory requirement for this arises from the specification of the science that the extension building, together with the existing buildings, forms a research institute as a functional unit with short distances and weather-independent connection between the various research units. Furthermore, the connection to the existing buildings on level U-1 is feasible. The space requirements plan for the extension building essentially comprises standard areas for laboratory and office use. The areas amount to approx. 590 m² NUF 1-6. The additionally required parking spaces (12 units) will be located in the outdoor facilities, a car park is not possible. Further details can be found in Annex 01. Special note regarding tender questions due to special external events (e.g. SARS-COV-2 or Ukraine war): Please take into account any possible or recognisable impairments in your offer, e.g. with regard to the availability of materials and products, labour, a possibly delayed submission of required evidence, effects on any subcontractors, etc. Questions arising in this context, we ask to be submitted in good time before the deadline for submission of offers via the message system of the eTendering.
