At the Mittelpunktgrundschule in Hungen, the space requirement will be met through an extension. The two-storey new building will be constructed using timber frame construction. The structure consists of timber-framed walls and cross-laminated timber ceilings. The internal support structure is planned as a skeleton construction with a few steel columns and overlying timber beams. The exterior cladding is to be provided with a pre-hung grey-stained timber cladding. In addition, through restructuring in the existing building, an adequate kitchen and canteen area will be created (2.BA). The space requirement will be met through eight new classrooms, a library, office and differentiation rooms.
