For governing bodies to make data-driven decisions, it is necessary to have quality data. Anyone, at any time or place, should have the autonomy to find answers to the fundamental questions for their work, quickly, securely, and based on quality data that enables them to make informed decisions. In many current processes at the UIB, the serious problems of not having information or having low-quality information have been evident. For example, with various requirements from auditors in processes of follow-up and accreditation of official degrees due to not having certain key information; or also the amount of time dedicated to manually cleaning low-quality information that a project of these characteristics will automate. For all this, the strategic plan 2023-2027 of the University of the Balearic Islands has 3 strategic objectives related to the corporate information factory: - Strategic Objective 12 of teaching: Being able to make accurate decisions about teaching based on reliable and up-to-date data. - Strategic Objective 10 of transfer: Account to society for the activities carried out through the publication of objective indicators. - Strategic Objective 8 of management: Have quality corporate information through the construction of a data factory. The benefits of this solution in terms of efficiency and quality reach a multitude of institutional processes. Some of which are: - Follow-up and accreditation of official degrees. - Implementation of a new quality system based on the AUDIT programme of ANECA. - Generation, validation and sending of SIIU files. - Follow-up of the execution of the institutional Strategic Plan. - Active transparency, with the web publication of objective data. - Obtaining quality data for participation in university rankings such as CyD, THE Times, Shanghai, THE Impact and GreenMetric. - Automate the obtaining of data from the annual academic report.
