Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Forensik - Köln-Merheim, Generalplanerleistung

At the Köln Merheim site, the Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR) intends to commission a new building for Forensik II "next door" and to completely abandon the current forensic use in the continuing LVR-Klinik (which will then have a different use). The reason is that the building currently in use no longer meets the current structural and functional requirements and is permanently overcrowded. The building currently used for forensic purposes (House "O") of the LVR-Klinik is located away from the planned new construction project and will not be included in the new construction planning. The project involves the realization of a forensic psychiatric clinic through new construction in conventional construction method, including an existing building (formerly "House 40"), which is to be preserved and possibly continued to be used as a Forensic Ambulance. The project includes both a quantitative expansion of the number of places and the adaptation of the room sizes as well as a qualitative and conceptual further development of the forensic care. Based on the results of the preliminary planning, the client will finally check the feasibility (financing/approval) of the project. If the project continues, it is intended to call up the phases 3 ff as a second order stage.
