Netherlands – Construction work – Partnerschap voor de ontwikkeling en nieuwbouw van de Schrijversbuurt

Woonopmaat faces an enormous task to make its assets sustainable and, where possible, to expand them; the need for good and affordable housing is also unabated in the northern IJmond. The municipality of Heemskerk wants to grow to a population of 40,000+. This creates a shared ambition and –task with regard to expanding the housing stock. In doing so, we are dealing with a largely older stock from the 1950s-1970s. This also applies to the ‘Schrijversbuurt’ project. The Schrijversbuurt consists mainly of old and "worn-out" smaller single-family homes that need to be replaced by a modern, new and climate-adaptive neighbourhood. A neighbourhood that will be a home for a differentiated target group. The project team is looking for a project partner who can design and realise the new homes together with them. A partner who involves and guides the residents in every phase of the project. Ultimately, a minimum of 630, a maximum of 730 homes, both ground-based and stacked homes.
