Description

BKP 242-01 Heating and Cooling Systems Current Situation The Canton of Zurich is carrying out the renovation and expansion of the operational building of the Lake Police and Maritime Control at the Oberrieden site. The existing base will be comprehensively renovated, structurally upgraded, and expanded with a new building. The operation of the Lake Police will be maintained during the construction period through separate provisional measures. The aim is a modern, safe, and energetically renovated base that meets long-term operational requirements.

Project Overview

The project includes all heating and cooling systems of the main project and is divided into the following areas:

• Dismantling and demolition of existing cooling installations

• Preparation of the existing heating system for on-site dismantling

• Renovation and upgrading of the existing heating and cooling systems

• New construction of heating and cooling systems in the extension building as well as adaptations in the surroundings and external systems

The site is located at Seestrasse in Oberrieden (ZH). The works will be carried out during ongoing operations and in several phases.

Project Goal

The goal of the project is a fully renovated and operationally safe base for the Lake Police with modern, standard-compliant, and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems. The heating and cooling systems are designed for reliable use, high availability, and robust, maintenance-friendly execution and form an integral part of the overall project.

Required Contractor Services

Qualified contractors are sought for the execution of the heating and cooling systems in the main project, including demolition, renovation, new construction, and the associated works in the surroundings, including all services required for this within the respective trade. For better orientation, the construction documents are attached to this invitation to tender. They provide interested contractors with a first overview of the location, scope, and environment of the works.

Heating and Cooling Works

The existing heating system will be drained, and no longer needed installations will be decommissioned; the dismantling will be carried out on-site. Existing cooling installations and split units will be professionally dismantled and disposed of by the heating contractor. The new energy supply will be provided by an earth probe field in the external area in combination with a brine-water heat pump. The earth probes serve both for heat generation and cooling. The creation of the earth probe field including drilling work, distribution shaft, and connecting lines is part of the works. The heat pump will be installed in the heating centre on the top floor and will supply underfloor heating in the usable areas, radiators in storage and technical areas, ceiling panels in the workshop, and the heating registers of the ventilation systems. A hot water storage tank optimises the operation; the preparation of domestic hot water is carried out via a fresh water station. The storage tank and fresh water station will be supplied by the sanitary contractor. The heat distribution will be partially newly created or adapted, hydraulically balanced, and demand-controlled. The cooling supply is primarily provided by free cooling with the earth probes. In case of higher cooling demand, the heat pump additionally generates active cooling. The cooling is provided via underfloor heating, ceiling panels, fan coils, and ventilation coolers. All necessary pipelines, fittings, measuring and safety devices, and insulation as well as assembly, filling, testing, and commissioning are part of the scope of services. The control of the heating and cooling systems will be coordinated with the building automation. A mobile heating centre is planned for drying the subfloor; the definitive heat pump must not be used for this. The execution will be carried out in phases and in coordination with the ongoing operation as well as the other contractors involved in the project.
