France – Instruments for checking physical characteristics – Acquisition d’un dispositif indenteur – scratch pour la caractérisation mécanique de couches minces

A large part of the materials studied at the GREMI are in the form of coatings with thicknesses ranging from a few tens of nanometers to two micrometers. These coatings are generally based on transition metals, purely metallic, or of the oxide/nitride type. The thinnest of these can be composed of carbon nanostructures, while others may include heterogeneities such as nanoparticles. More recently, the laboratory has focused on the synthesis or surface modification of porous materials such as foams or disordered carbons, as well as the development of soft materials such as biological materials. Currently, the laboratory does not have equipment to measure the adhesion and surface mechanical properties of these materials.
