The City of Eisenach intends to expand the Ernst-Abbe-Gymnasium at Wartburgallee 60 through a massive new extension. The new building will be constructed parallel to Grimmelgasse and will adjoin the existing sports hall on two sides. The building has the following main dimensions: Length: 55 m, Width: 23 m, Height: 14 m, Number of storeys: 3. The foundation will be made using bored piles, on which a supporting grid of reinforced concrete will be laid. The excavation pit will be secured using a sheet pile wall. The structure will primarily consist of reinforced concrete, with the ceiling and wall elements, as well as the new elevator shaft, being made of in-situ concrete. Staircases and platforms will be made from prefabricated or semi-prefabricated reinforced concrete elements. The roof will be a flat roof made of a reinforced concrete slab with a surrounding parapet.
