Project Management - ESTW Frankfurt Airport Regional Station

The ESTW Frankfurt Airport Regional Station project involves the reconstruction of the signalling and control technology (LST) of the Frankfurt Airport Regional Station (Ril 100: FFLU), as well as the adjacent open line to Kelsterbach (Ril 100: FKCH) on line 3683 (Kleyerstraße junction - Kelsterbach) on the so-called airport loop, to ESTW technology. This is necessary so that the Hinkelstein junction (Ril 100: FHIN) to be constructed by the Regional Tangent West (RTW) does not have to be integrated as an ESTW standalone solution within the control area of the RSTW Kelsterbach Kf. The project is located in the Plan approval sections (PfA) Mitte and Süd 1 of the RTW. In addition, block compression on line 3683 in the direction of the stop and transfer point (Hp Üst) Gateway Gardens (Ril 100: FFGG) and the planning of selective shunting routes in Frankfurt Airport Regional Station are necessary to implement the planned timetable after the RTW commissioning in 2029. The new ESTW-A is to be integrated into the existing ESTW-UZ Goldstein of the Simis-D design and will usually be operated from an already existing control desk in the Frankfurt Operations Control Centre. The control area extends between the block signals of the Hinkelstein junction in the west and the open line between Frankfurt Airport Regional Station and Frankfurt Gateway Gardens in the east. A total of 73 control units are planned within the DB control area. The financing of the above-mentioned LST systems will be provided by DB InfraGO.
