Description

The Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart (IMS) plans to acquire a Photonic Computing System for use in high-performance computing/artificial intelligence applications. The aim is to set up and operate a real laboratory for photonic AI with this facility. The tasks of the IMS include providing infrastructure and expertise, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises. This requires the operation of productive systems, on the one hand, but also with the greatest possible flexibility of these facilities, in order to be able to respond to the changing needs of industry. The real laboratory for photonic AI will be set up within a three-year funding program and is intended to demonstrate the application and benefit of photonic computing in differentiated use cases and be open to interested parties from research and industry. Delivery of a Photonic Computing System in two lots - Lot 1: Base system (PCS GS) - Lot 2: Expansion system (PCS ES) The delivery of the system (Lot 1 and Lot 2) to the Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart or the installation site HLRS - Höchstleistungsrechenzentrum Universität Stuttgart, must be completed by 31.10.2026 at the latest. The Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart (IMS) receives funding from the Verband Region Stuttgart, Kronenstraße 25, 70174 Stuttgart - Lot 1 and the European Regional Development Fund (EFRE funds) - Lot 2 for the procurement in question. The requirements are derived from the respective performance description (Annex 2a and Annex 2). The cost ceiling for Lot 1 is 990,000 euros net and the cost ceiling for Lot 2 is 1,000,000 euros net. The offer must be submitted in German. All correspondence with the contracting entity must be conducted in German.
