In the founding year of the MHG, 1909, the museum took over the interiors of two rooms of the Villa Rücker, which was demolished in the same year. The placement of the decorative elements of the two rooms of this villa was originally intended for the second floor of the museum, which was under construction and opened in 1922. Therefore, the room layout and window front of the villa were already reproduced in the museum building. However, due to financial and organisational reasons, this installation never took place and the wall panels, stucco elements and wallpapers remained in storage until 2009, when they were first inspected, examined and subjected to securing measures in a first phase. Now they are to find their final place at the originally intended location. For this purpose, complex conservation and restoration measures are necessary.
