This framework agreement concerns the call-off removal or remediation of asbestos and Chromium VI contamination, mostly on board ships or in workshops at shipborne installations. Safety and health are more than a core concept within the Directorate of Material Maintenance (DMI), which is why DMI has its own, more stringent rules in addition to the statutory rules set. The framework agreement will be concluded for four years with an option to extend it three times by one year. The value of the contract depends on the rates charged by the bidders and the amount of asbestos and Chromium VI contamination encountered. Based on the past years and what the future may bring, we estimate to make 20 to 25 call-offs per year. Deployment abroad on our ships or Defence sites is a possibility. The carefully estimated value of the contract, including the extension option, is estimated at € 2,100,000,- excluding VAT. During the term of the framework agreement, the value of the call-offs / actual quantity may be higher than the originally estimated quantity. This may be due to the Contracting Authority adding other defence components with similar work to the framework agreement to be concluded. Think, for example, of other vehicle, vessel, or aircraft components such as engines or other components that may contain, for example, gaskets, brake linings, clutch plates, insulation or fire-resistant cladding, electrical cables, etc. The maximum value for this is set at € 6,300,000,- ex VAT.
