Description

In the context of commissioning the new distribution centre of the SNCB located at the Central Workshop of Mechelen, the SNCB is seeking temporary support to accompany the logistic moving activities during the start of operations in the first semester of 2027. The new distribution centre of Mechelen constitutes a strategic investment and is intended to become the central logistics hub for supplying the various workshops of SNCB Technics. The site includes, among other things, a highly automated warehouse, in high and low structure, designed to manage and distribute daily tens of thousands of parts, with the aim of improving the efficiency of maintenance processes and optimizing the availability of rolling stock. In the context of the transition from existing infrastructures to this new state-of-the-art logistics environment, the SNCB is looking for an experienced logistics partner, capable of ensuring the flexible execution and support of various moving and internal transport operations. This support includes, in particular, the management and provision of qualified personnel (such as logistics operators, forklift drivers and truck drivers), suitable equipment (such as forklifts), trucks (tractors and side-loading semi-trailers) as well as operational support for handling, moving and reorganizing goods within and between the warehouses concerned. The mission requires a high level of reliability, flexibility and organizational capacity, given the scale and complexity of the moving operation, as well as the need to ensure the continuity of the SNCB's logistics processes during the transition to the new logistics centre.
