No deadline given

Description

The City of Erkelenz intends to comprehensively examine the future development and reuse of formerly sacred buildings in Keyenberg, Kuckum and Berverath as part of the revitalisation of the five villages on the edge of the Garzweiler open-cast mine. This tender is for the creation of a feasibility study for these sacred buildings. The aim is to develop sustainable perspectives for the three deconsecrated and listed buildings, to strengthen their special significance as identity-forming places in the reclaimed villages and thus contribute to the social, cultural and spatial revitalisation of the localities. The feasibility study is to create the basis for rethinking the churches and the chapel as potential central spaces of village life and, where appropriate, converting them into a community-oriented, multifunctional use.
