Description

Among its various missions, the Industrial and Grand Est Directorate (DIGE) handles the management of FMA and TFA radioactive waste packages, respectively at the CSA and the Cires. Together, these two centres form the Ci2A. Within this directorate, the Upstream and Controls Department (AC) is responsible for the various missions necessary for the management and which are in interface with the producers: elaboration of acceptance specifications, processing of approval or acceptance files, monitoring of the quality of the packages, … Some of the producers' needs sometimes require adapting the standard management processes for the packages. For this, specific studies are then necessary. These are led and partly carried out by the Customer Relations and Solutions Service (RSC) within this department. These studies aim, for example, to examine the acceptability of particular waste packages (new conditioning matrices, radiological threshold exceedances, non-standard dimensions, …), to define adaptations of the storage centres, to prepare files for requests for significant modifications subject to ASNR authorisation, to develop new industrial solutions for the management of waste. These studies require the subcontracting of certain lots requiring strong technical expertise, in particular nuclear safety, radioprotection or support for the elaboration of regulatory files.
