The existing kindergarten building on the grounds of the Prüfening Primary School at Killermannstraße 49a dates back to the 1980s, provides space for two groups and no longer meets future needs or current pedagogical and structural requirements. Therefore, it is to be demolished and replaced by a six-group children's day care centre in modular timber construction with 150 care places. During the construction period, a container facility for three groups on the school grounds will secure ongoing operations. The aim is a modern, functional and pedagogically high-quality building with high quality of stay, flexibility, accessibility and a close connection between indoor and outdoor areas. The award of the project planning is made Europe-wide using the VgV procedure. After a suitability check, the five highest-rated offices will be invited to submit an offer. The construction work will be awarded to a general contractor on the basis of a functional performance description, who will be responsible for design, manufacture, assembly and trade coordination. The appointed planner will accompany the construction work through quality controls, site inspections and expert advice. The contractor will be appointed in stages.
