The municipal council of Klüsserath decided on 08.04.2025 to construct a new 3-group kindergarten with 55 places on municipal land plot 6, parcels 125, 126 and 127 (total area: 1,571 m²) at the site of Damm-/Mittelstraße. The new building will replace the dilapidated kindergarten at Mittelstraße 12. In the immediate vicinity of the new site are the primary school and the gymnasium. On parcel 125 there is a residential building with holiday apartments and the former bakery's operational building, and on parcel 126 there is a multi-family house that previously also housed a carpentry workshop. Both buildings must be demolished to make way for the new kindergarten. No hazardous substance reports are available for the buildings on the parcels. The buildings are partially cellared. If economically viable, the existing cellars in both buildings could be utilized. The municipality also owns parcel 113/2 in Mittelstraße, which will be used as an access road/parking lot for the new kindergarten. The municipality prioritizes a single-story construction method. However, a two-story, compact and functional construction method is also conceivable. The possibility of expanding the kindergarten to 4 groups should be taken into account in the planning. The municipality favors timber construction. Demolition of the existing buildings is scheduled to begin in the 1st half of 2027. The start of construction for the actual building work is also planned for 2027. A construction period of approximately 1.5 to 2 years is expected. Completion and commissioning are then planned for 2029. There is no land-use plan. The permissibility of the building project is to be assessed according to § 34 BauGB. Decentralised supply with the option of future connection to a central network is envisaged for the heat planning. The legal obligation to install a photovoltaic system on new public buildings in Rhineland-Palatinate must be complied with.
