The District of Ammerland, as the operator of Ammerland-Klinik GmbH, is constructing a new hospital building as part of a future project with an investment volume of 233 million Euro. The new building will be located near the existing hospital centre along the "Lange Straße" on hospital-owned land. The new building will cover 11,200 square metres and will be equipped with the most modern technology to produce as much energy as possible and will serve as a model for sustainability and circular economy. The overall complex, comprising the new and existing areas, will have approximately 31,000 square metres of usable floor space. With the new building, nursing services, functional diagnostics, operating theatre and emergency department will be located in a connected layout; in the existing area, examination and nursing areas as well as service and logistic functions will remain.
