Description

BKP 170-01 Specialised Civil Engineering Works Current Situation The Canton of Zurich is carrying out the overall refurbishment and expansion of the existing operational building of the Seepolizei and Schifffahrtskontrolle at the Oberrieden site. The ongoing police operations are relocated to the already established temporary facilities during the construction period. The present invitation to tender concerns the specialised civil engineering works on the existing building, not the temporary facilities. The specialised civil engineering works will be awarded as a separate package (BKP 170-01) and must be coordinated with the building construction works (BKP 211-01) and the other trades. Project Overview The project includes the refurbishment of the existing base and its expansion. The specialised civil engineering services essentially comprise: • Drilling and cutting work in concrete and masonry • Deep foundation with micropiles • Securing and underpinning of existing components • Dewatering during the construction period. The excavation of the building pit and earthworks are not part of this package. The site is located at Seestrasse in Oberrieden (ZH), directly on the shore of Lake Zurich. The soil consists of artificial fillings over soft lake sediments; only the underlying Molasse rock is load-bearing. The groundwater level corresponds to the lake level and is above the bottom of the excavation pit. The parcel is in the cadastre of contaminated sites (KbS); handling of contaminated material will be in accordance with the instructions of the expert in remediation of contaminated sites.
