Germany – Engineering services – HWGK-F GF Itter/Elz

Landesbetrieb Gewässer beim Regierungspräsidium StuttgartGermanyPublished on Mar 26, 2026
No deadline given

Description

In Baden-Württemberg, there are comprehensive flood hazard maps (HWGK) for approximately 11,300 kilometers of rivers, which are to be progressively updated. The HWGK meet the requirements of the EU Floods Directive as well as the very high requirements of §65 of the Water Act of Baden-Württemberg. They have direct legal effect, which is why the quality requirements are correspondingly high. Approximately 105 kilometers of watercourses in the catchment areas of Itter and Elz are to have their existing HWGK updated. Hydrological calculations and hydraulic calculations (2-dimensional, unsteady), each following the specified procedure, are to be carried out. All hydraulically relevant structures in and around the watercourse and on the floodplains (e.g., buildings, diversions, ditches) are to be taken into account. The results are to be converted into the HWGK data standard and submitted in the specified data format. The results of the initial HWGK are freely accessible and can be retrieved at https://www.hochwasser.baden-wuerttemberg.de/.
