Currently, there is no standardized or centralised solution at BEW for the use of 3D plant images. The creation and storage of these 3D data are decentralised, leading to varying procedures and thus promoting inconsistencies in data quality and inefficient processes within the organisation. Integration into existing systems such as COMOS (Siemens AG), SAP PM and the document management system is currently only possible to a limited extent. Relevant documentation is often incomplete or difficult to find, resulting in increased effort for on-site inspections and business trips. As part of the critical infrastructure, it is essential for BEW to handle all aspects of IT infrastructure, data capture and processing, and data exchange with the utmost care.
