Switzerland – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Planerleistungen, Biel, Gehwegausbau/Umgestaltung Knoten Reuchenettestrasse-Lienhardstrasse

Since 2001, various project variants have been developed for the area of the Knoten Reuchenettestrasse - Lienhardstrasse, and public participation and planning procedures have been carried out. Several project adjustments were made based on the public participation inputs, and finally, a road plan was developed in 2019. The road plan (project status September 2025) was approved at the beginning of 2026 by the Department of Construction, Transport and Energy of the Canton of Bern and is legally binding. This road plan is now to be developed into a construction project and subsequently implemented. Project objectives: * Creation of a longitudinal connection (footpath) to the adjacent properties north of Reuchenettestrasse * More safety for pedestrians when crossing the cantonal road * Improvement of the situation for all road users: * Safe longitudinal and transverse connection for pedestrians * More space for cyclists at least on the ascent * More space for the encounter situation bus/truck for delay-free crossing * Elimination of existing defects in the building substance (inlet shafts, road surface, etc.)
