Description

The interpreting service for the language combinations French-German and German-French is being tendered as part of the Franco-German cooperation in the Upper Rhine region. The work in the Franco-German bodies on issues related to the development of the Upper Rhine (Permanent Commission and Committee A) requires subject-specific and negotiation-secure exchange in both German and French by the respective members. This qualification cannot be assumed for any delegation member and is difficult to acquire even after years of work in this area. In addition, there is a regular change of the involved staff in the aforementioned bodies. Therefore, the Permanent Commission in its 57th session on 16./17. November 2006 in Lyon and Committee A in its 81st session on 06. May 2009 in Obernai agreed that the use of interpreters in meetings of the Permanent Commission and Committee A or their working groups is necessary for a constructive and goal-oriented cooperation. The existence of this necessity has been emphasized and renewed in the sessions of the Permanent Commission and Committee A ever since. The required use of interpreters currently concerns the Permanent Commission, Committee A and, inter alia, the following working groups:

- Working Group “Permanent Commission Committee” / Working Group “Mixte”

- Working Group “Committee A”

- Working Group “Manoeuvres”

- Sub-Working Group “Statistics”

- Sub-Working Group “Fixed Thresholds”

- Sub-Working Group “Free Borders”

- Sub-Working Group “Cultural Defence Kehl-Strasbourg”

- Sub-Working Group “Effectiveness”

The list of the aforementioned working groups is not exhaustive.
