The Foundation "Rammelsberg Mine, Goslar Old Town and Upper Harz Water Management", short for UNESCO World Heritage Foundation in the Harz, is responsible for the promotion, mediation, preservation and coordination of the UNESCO World Heritage in the West Harz and was founded in 2012 at the initiative of the contracting authority. To increase the effectiveness, efficiency and transparency of the operational work and to future-proof the Foundation in line with its shareholders, a comprehensive reorganisation and strategic realignment is to take place. Taking into account the proper and economical use of public funds, the top priority will remain the reliable fulfilment of the Foundation's tasks - the promotion, mediation, preservation and coordination of the UNESCO World Heritage in the West Harz.
