Description

The previous tender was jointly undertaken with the other Wadden Islands and the Waddenkantoor. The other Wadden Islands, Ameland, Vlieland, Schiermonnikoog and Terschelling, and the Waddenkantoor opted for a 4-year period with a possible extension of 2 years in the previous tender. Texel chose a 2-year period with a possible extension of one year. In the meantime, the extension option has been utilised and the contract with the current accountant, ETL Assurance and Overheidsaccountant, expires at the end of the 2026 financial year. From the 2027 financial year, the municipality of Texel is looking, via an open European tender, for a new accountant. The contractor must (on the basis of a fixed price for the parts that lend themselves to this) perform the following tasks annually: 1. Annual audit of the municipality of Texel's annual accounts, pursuant to Article 213 of the Municipalities Act, including the so-called SISA annexes; 2. Annual performance of an interim audit and the preparation of a management letter containing an interim evaluation of the internal control; 3. Natural advisory function, for example, advice that directly results from audit findings and/or is a consequence of the outcomes of restrictions of (draft) reports; 4. At least twice a year, provide a physical explanation to the audit and council committee about the management letter and the accountant's report; 5. Control of the external tax cooperation. In addition, it is possible to request additional audit or advisory tasks from the contractor, such as advising on the introduction of a new regulation. These tasks fall outside the fixed annual price and an hourly rate for additional tasks will be requested.
