Netherlands – Flood-prevention works – Dijkversterking Den Oever - Den Helder

The Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier (HHNK) is the manager of the Wadden Sea dike between Den Oever and Den Helder. The dikes between Den Oever and Den Helder do not meet the legal standards for water safety. This concerns the sections of the Balgzanddijk, the Amsteldiepdijk and the Wieringer Zeewering. These sections are part of the normtrajecten 12-1 (Balgzanddijk and Amsteldiepdijk) and 13-5 (Wieringer Zeewering). These dike sections will be reinforced as part of the national High Water Protection Programme (HWBP). Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier is the manager of these dikes.
