The Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Upper Franconia Bayreuth intends to construct a new inter-company educational facility ("IHK-Campus Bayreuth"). The new building will meet multifunctional requirements in the field of vocational training and further education (IHK training operations, IHK examination operations and educational formats). The building is planned as a lightweight construction. Except for the basement, which is planned in reinforced concrete construction, the building will be constructed from steel, wood and glass. The supporting steel structure, with the steel truss girders spanning the halls, is covered with steel trapezoidal sheeting. Roof construction with a green flat roof and photovoltaics. The exterior walls will be constructed in timber-framed construction with mineral fibre insulation. The exterior skin will be designed as a ventilated cladding. It is planned that this project "New Construction IHK-Campus Bayreuth" will be funded by the Free State of Bavaria and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF 2021 to 2027). A corresponding funding application has been submitted.
