Description

Construction of all earthworks (BE) and construction roads in section 5.15 of the planning approval section of the Hanau-Gelnhausen line. The section belongs to line 3600/3677 with railway km 32.6 - 39.0 and passes through the two traffic stations of Langenselbold and Niedermittlau. In total, the volume to be constructed is approx. 60 earthworks (items) with a total area of approx. 111,000 m² as well as a number of approx. 33 construction roads (items) with an approximate total length of 15,600 m. According to the enclosed BE/BS planning, the earthworks are located close to the track and are accessed by construction roads running almost continuously parallel to the railway embankment with occasional deviations into agricultural roads. The site clearance will be carried out by a separate contractor. During the performance period for the construction of the construction roads and earthworks, a separate contractor for clearing works will therefore be active and available in parallel. Key challenges: 1) To the north along the route there is a floodplain with significant flooding potential. 2) High groundwater levels: The groundwater levels in the structure area are strongly dependent on precipitation. Maximum groundwater levels can temporarily reach the ground surface (GOK). 3) During the execution of the BE/BS measures in PFA 5.15, extensive track and station conversions are taking place in the adjacent PFA 5.16 (Hailer-Meerholz) and PFA 5.17 (Gelnhausen). The construction road network and logistical hubs must therefore be partially or occasionally shared at the PFA boundary to 5.15.
