Description

The Wastewater Association Breisgauer Bucht (AZV) intends to renew and optimise the sludge dewatering system at the Forchheim wastewater treatment plant. The concept for renewing the sludge dewatering at the Forchheim wastewater treatment plant site pursues the following fundamental objectives:

- Ensuring reliable and optimised dewatering operation of the digested sludge produced

- Producing a dewatered digested sludge with an optimal dewatering degree tailored to the existing drying plant

- Reducing personnel deployment through a largely automated and autonomous operation of the new dewatering units to be installed

- Compliance with currently valid standards and regulations as well as the use of mechanical equipment in accordance with recognised technical rules

During the renewal of the sludge dewatering system, the operation of the Forchheim wastewater treatment plant must be maintained. The Wastewater Association Breisgauer Bucht operates the Forchheim wastewater treatment plant at Zum Klärwerk, 79362 Forchheim with a design size of 660,000 PE. The mechanical sludge dewatering at the Forchheim wastewater treatment plant is currently carried out using four chamber filter presses (KFP). Due to the increasing age of the KFP, which were commissioned in 1980, and the limited dewatering results, the Wastewater Association Breisgauer Bucht has decided to modernise the mechanical sludge dewatering. The four existing KFP are to be replaced by two redundant decanters, each housed in a soundproof enclosure, with a maximum throughput of 70 m³/h.

The scope of supply for Lot 1 Decanter includes the delivery, installation and commissioning of two decanters, suitable for use with municipal sewage sludge, for the defined areas of application, including solids gate, centrate gate, flushing water devices, soundproof enclosure with base plate and frame, control cabinet incl. control cabinet ventilation, operating panel in a local operating console, control, connection via bus system with reading and writing signal transmission, electrical and mechanical design as well as documentation and CE consideration.

The mechanical connection of the decanters will be carried out as part of Lot 2 Mechanical Engineering and includes the pump technology, the pipeline construction as well as the connection to the existing plant technology. The E-MSR technical equipment will be carried out in Lot 3 E-MSR Technology and includes the electrical installation, the cabling (also between the decanters and the associated control cabinets) as well as the programming and integration into the higher-level control system. Lots 2 and 3 are not the subject of the tender.

After the end of the selection procedure, the request documents, Lot 1 Decanter will be sent out in the middle/end of the third quarter of 2026. Bidders have 30 days to submit their offers. As part of the restricted tender, large-scale operational tests will be carried out with the bidders, which will be scientifically accompanied. The contract will be awarded to the bidder whose plant promises the lowest annual costs. The contract conclusion is planned for the middle/end of the first quarter of 2027. The realisation period provides for the creation of the design and assembly planning by the second quarter of 2027. Delivery times for large components are set at 6 months, so that the installation of the large components can begin in the fourth quarter of 2027. The commissioning of the first decanter is planned for the beginning of the first quarter of 2028. The commissioning of the second decanter is scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2028.
