The utilities and especially the sewerage in Rychenbergstrasse and Hammerweg have aged and are in need of renovation. The sewerage pipes are mostly over 90 years old. The road surface is also in a condition requiring renovation. As part of the overall project, the measures to repair the road surface will be coordinated with the utility renovations. Stadtwerk Winterthur intends to replace the gas and water pipes as well as the electrical systems (TE). Swisscom has reported a point-specific need for manhole cover replacements.
