Within the framework of the previous carve-out, the ERP landscape was technically streamlined and reduced to the BEW-specific data sets, but it still exhibits a complex, historically evolved architecture with numerous customer-specific developments (Z-programs, modified standard objects, special tables, individual reports) as well as partly heterogeneous process variants. These individualizations limit the ability to further develop, hinder sustainable system maintenance, and contradict the objectives of an energy supplier-specific, regulation-compliant, efficient ERP operation. Against this background, BEW intends to completely replace the existing ERP landscape with a standard-oriented, integrated SAP S/4HANA system architecture. The new system landscape should, in particular: enable continuous end-to-end processes between FI/CO (incl. FI-AA, PS, SD), PM and MM (incl. EH&S), support the harmonization and standardization of functions and master data (e.g. Business Partner, Universal Journal, harmonized material masters), enable the use of modern SAP technologies (e.g. Fiori, CDS Views, Embedded Analytics), ensure future-proof integration with peripheral systems (GIS, DMS, billing systems, reporting solutions), and sustainably meet regulatory requirements (e.g. GoBD, EnWG, energy industry proof obligations).
