France – Instruments for measuring quantities – Acquisition d’un système de métrologie pour Laboratoire de Mécanique des Fluides et d’Acoustique – (UMR5509 - CNRS)

The Fluid Mechanics and Acoustics Laboratory wishes to acquire a metrology system for the spatial and temporal characterization of fluid flows by measuring the 3 components of velocity (3D3C), via 2 complementary methods: - Spatial and temporal Lagrangian tracking of particles (4D-PTV) by measuring individual particle trajectories and possible projection of results onto an Eulerian grid, with particle densities similar to those used in PIV. - Tomographic PIV by spatial reconstruction of particle location at each time step. This contract covers all the hardware of the system (cameras, lenses, illumination, computer...) as well as the entire software chain for data acquisition and processing and the synchronization between the various hardware elements. This purchase, as part of a sharing arrangement between several CNRS laboratories (CORIA, ICARE, IMFT, IRPHE, IUSTI, LEGI, LHEEA, LMFA, PPRIME…), the proposed equipment must be compact, have a short setup time while ensuring optimal reproducibility, be able to respond to a wide range of measurement volumes and be easily transportable from one laboratory to another. The joint acquisition of such equipment will enable all these laboratories to carry out advanced measurements for the characterization of flows by providing data such as the velocity gradient tensor (all components), 3D acceleration or pressure fields.
