Warendorfer Energieversorgung GmbH intends to construct a thermal storage facility at the new Ems heating plant in Warendorf. The heating plant must be operational for the 2027/2028 heating period. The installation site is located on the outskirts of the new heating plant in Warendorf, near the B 64. The installation height is approximately 57m. A corresponding site plan is attached to the request (see attachment). The further attachment contains floor plans and sections of the new building with storage. The thermal storage is to be used as a stratified storage system. The heat is fed into the existing district heating network. The system temperatures are, in the design state, a maximum of 95 °C on the flow side and a minimum of 55 °C to a maximum of 70 °C on the return side. The storage must be designed for charging and discharging volume flows between 30 and 300 m³/h at the stated operating temperatures. It should operate as autonomously as possible with its control, regulation and monitoring systems and will be integrated into the higher-level control technology of the heating plant. Communication with the control technology is via hardware contacts and Profibus/Profinet.
