The Neckar-Odenwald district in Mosbach plans the comprehensive renovation of the Ludwig-Erhard School, Commercial Schools Mosbach, in a central downtown location in the Katzenhorn. The comprehensive renovation includes buildings A and B with approximately 8,015 m² of gross floor area from the 1970s. The gymnasium is not part of the renovation. The buildings of the Ludwig-Erhard School are in close proximity to the buildings of the Pestalozzi Realschule, the Nikolaus-Kistner-Gymnasium, the outdoor pool and the Jahnhalle. The property is bounded by a large parking lot on Hammerweg, Jean de la Fontaine Street, the Elz river which divides the city, and the outdoor pool area. The energy supply of the school site is currently provided by a transformer station located in the building, a PV system and a connection to the local district heating network. As part of a feasibility study in 2024, the feasibility of an energy-efficient renovation and modernization of buildings A and B was examined. This should also take into account the improvement of accessibility, for example by the construction of an elevator. Technical systems have been maintained and partially renewed during their service life, but are now to be newly conceived and completely renewed as necessary as part of the comprehensive renovation. In particular, heat generation, heat transfer, central or decentralised ventilation systems and lighting, BMA, ELA/SAA should be considered in variants. For the duration of the comprehensive renovation during ongoing school operations, partial relocation of classes to a container system is planned.
