Description

Technical University of Mannheim, 68163 Mannheim, Paul-Wittsack-Str. 6, Building G (old), Comprehensive renovation of the laboratory building engineering services for structural design according to Part 4 Section 1 HOAI, basic services of phases 1 to 6 and special services of phases 1, 3, 4 and 8. The State of Baden-Württemberg, represented by Property and Construction Baden-Württemberg, intends to carry out the comprehensive renovation of Building G (old) of the Technical University of Mannheim. Building G (old) of the Technical University of Mannheim was constructed between 1970 and 1972 and serves as a laboratory and lecture hall building. Due to the long period of use of over 50 years, the building no longer meets current standards in terms of construction, fire protection and building services, and is therefore to be comprehensively renovated. It is a two-storey reinforced concrete frame structure with a basement and a usable area of 1,473 m². It currently contains laboratory areas (Category S1) on both floors with a large number of digestors and an internal lecture hall with tiered seating extending over the basement and ground floor, currently without natural lighting. The building has a base area of 26.10 m x 39.90 m. The areas for the comprehensive renovation amount to 1,473 m² NUF R, the total area including traffic and technical areas amounts to 2,929 m² NRF. The use as a laboratory and lecture hall building will also be retained for the future. The comprehensive renovation includes the dismantling of the building down to the static structure. The existing prefabricated reinforced concrete facade will be dismantled - a completely new facade is desired in terms of design and energy efficiency. Modern learning forms are to be taken into account and enabled in the new design, such as learning areas in the corridor zones or project group workspaces. Previously missing functional rooms such as changing rooms for the laboratories or barrier-free WC facilities are to be added. The estimated construction costs are approx. 19.3 million €, 8.1 million € is assumed for work section 300 and 11.2 million € for work section 400. The construction period-checked statics from 1969 incl. subsequent changes are available, but a representative inventory and assessment of load-bearing components is still necessary. The start of construction is planned for the end of 2030, completion for the end of 2033.
