Germany – Engineering design services – Planungsleistung zum Neubau der mechanischen Reinigungsstufe unter Beachtung der Prinzipien von Cradle to Cradle (C2C)

The Arnsberg – Neheim wastewater treatment plant is to be completely overhauled in the entire wastewater sector, as it has a heavily outdated M- and E-technology (often 20 and over 30 years old). Due to the tense spare parts situation and the no longer sufficiently powerful mechanical cleaning, the construction of a new mechanical cleaning plant including inlet screw pump station, screen and sand trap, as well as the renewal of the primary settling tank scraper, is to be implemented as an urgent measure. Objectives of the measures:

• Safe wastewater conveyance by screw pumps to the new mechanical wastewater treatment for mixed water inflow up to QM: 880 l/s

• Operationally reliable discharge of substances > 5 mm

• Operationally reliable discharge of sands > 0,2 mm

• Operationally reliable primary sludge and scum removal

A new screw pump station, a new screen plant and a new sand trap plant are planned to run in parallel with the ongoing operation. The sludge scrapers of the two primary settling tanks will also be renewed. The building components to be renewed should be inspired by circular approaches (Cradle to Cradle principles). Other components of the planning should also be considered in line with c2c principles, plant-wide questions should be answered and a holistic concept should be developed. For this purpose, the overall concept submitted as part of the tender for the integration of C2C principles in all phases of performance is to be further developed and taken into account in coordination with the contractor. This involves special services according to HOAI. The planning of the building components should be oriented towards the principles of Cradle to Cradle.
