Germany – Works for complete or part construction and civil engineering work – Neubau Betriebshof Chemnitz Hauptbahnhof (BCH), VE4 Fahrzeughalle

The contracting authority, Verkehrsverbund Mittelsachsen GmbH (hereinafter also VMS GmbH or AG), intends to have the planning and new construction of a depot at Chemnitz Hauptbahnhof (Depot Chemnitz Hauptbahnhof - BCH) for the maintenance and servicing of rail vehicles carried out by private partners. The BCH includes an operational building and a covered bicycle shelter. The depot will be built on the site of the former goods station in Chemnitz and will comprise:

• Vehicle hall as a workshop building with wheel set processing, inspection pits, and roof workstations

• Underfloor cleaning system

• Systems for interior cleaning and for cleaning the on-board toilets, including supply and disposal

• Track system (approx. 7000m total length, 40 points)

• Access from the tram and rail network with system separation points

• Depot control with signal box

The overall project is divided into 3 construction phases:

• Phase 1: Workshop, track system, and access from the rail network

• Phase 2: Loop with brake track

• Phase 3: Access from the tram network and parking system

Within construction phase 1, the contracting authority has formed various procurement units (lots). The subject of this procedure is exclusively procurement unit VE 4. Procurement unit VE 4 includes the vehicle hall together with the bicycle shelter. The vehicle hall for the depot is a special building for the maintenance, cleaning, and repair of rail vehicles. All necessary functions are to be accommodated in the building, designed as a compact structure. These include, in addition to special equipment for rail vehicles, an underfloor lathe for processing the wheel sets, inspection pits beneath and to the side of the vehicle, a cleanliness area for bonding components to the vehicle, and roof workstations for maintaining the technical components on the vehicle roof.

The subject of this tendering process are the necessary execution, design, and assembly planning services as well as all the construction services required for the turnkey erection of procurement unit VE 4.
